The voting window for the 2025 General Assembly closed last Sunday, and we’re excited to share the results!

Regional Representative Results
Two-Year Terms:
- Brazil: Wendel Lemos is the Regional Representative, with Vitor Cernic as Substitute RR.
- German-Speaking Countries: Philip Ockelman is the Regional Representative, with Tristan Hof as Substitute RR.
- Iberia: José ignacio Pérez Janeiro is the Regional Representative. No Substitute RR selected.
- Italy and Malta: Jacopo Strati is the Regional Representative. No Substitute RR selected.
- Japan: Mitsunori Makino is the Regional Representative, with Kenji Suzuki as Substitute RR.
One-Year Terms:
- Asia: Wendra Djati Kamadjaja is the Regional Representative. No Substitute RR selected.
- France: Mikael Rabie is the Regional Representative. No Substitute RR selected.
- Latin America: Herbert Zurita is the Regional Representative. No Substitute RR selected.
Regions with no substitute Regional Representative are those where only one candidate applied.
International Associated Regions

This temporary aggregation includes regions and countries that do not yet meet the 100-member threshold required for independent representation.
We acknowledge that this is not an ideal situation. Addressing the underlying causes of this issue will be a key focus for the IJP in 2025. Once the new leadership is in place, efforts will begin to ensure better representation for these areas.
Other Topics Voted On
1. Membership for Non-Certified Individuals
Proposal: Should the IJP accept non-certified individuals (e.g., judges, scorekeepers, or others)?
- Results:
- 222 votes for: “Yes, but not as full members.”
- 81 votes for: “Yes, as full members.”
- 66 votes for: “No.”
- The remaining voters abstained or submitted blank votes.
Outcome: The Program Leads will implement a system to accept non-certified individuals as “associated” members of the IJP.
2. 2024 Accounting and 2025 Forecast Approval
The 2024 financial report and 2025 forecast were approved with:
- 432 votes in favor
- 19 votes against
- Remaining votes were blank or abstentions
Program Lead Selection Process

The elected Regional Representatives will select the new Program Leads from January 28 to January 31, 2025.

Election Process
- Election Date:

- Three Program Leads will be selected.
- Two will serve two-year terms.
- One will serve a one-year term to align with staggered terms.
- The fourth-place candidate becomes the Substitute Program Lead.
Who Should Apply as Program Lead?
If you have time, energy, and motivation to help improve the Judge Program, we encourage you to apply. This is a non-paid role that requires significant commitment, but it is deeply rewarding and impactful for judges, players, and Tournament Organizers.

Key 2025 Challenges:
- Supporting development and growth in the International Associated Regions.
- Ensuring the financial stability of the IJP.
- Building strong relationships with Wizards of the Coast, Tournament Organizers, and other Judge Organizations.
Even if you’re not selected, your application demonstrates your dedication, and there will still be opportunities to contribute meaningfully.
