Hello fellow judges from all around the world!
First and foremost, we hope you’re having a good and relaxing holiday season with those closest to you.
A couple of weeks have passed since our last set of articles and the International Judge Program official launch, and getting into the new year seems like a great opportunity to update all of you again regarding our progress in the different areas we’ve been working on since then.
Certifications
Starting with one of the core needs for the program, the Certifications system, progress has been made in a number of different directions: feedback from many different TOs has been collected and under analysis, some initial philosophical discussions regarding the best suitable system to cover the identified needs started to happen amongst the Program Leads, and a team of judges to work on the requirements has been assembled, waiting for the initial plan to be shared with them.
Alfonso will share the advancements made in this area mid January.
Temporary Regional Advisors
Another important aspect we have prioritized, to continue advancing in the different structures of the IJP, is deciding and contacting the Temporary Regional Advisors for this first year. They will support providing insight and opinion over the Certification system and will define the first set of Regions for the IJP operations.
While some of the people we approached weren’t available or interested in fulfilling the role, extra efforts were made to have a decent coverage of the world and ensure a wide enough representation of perspectives and cultures within the group. Cristiana will share with you more information about this in a dedicated post very soon ™.
Initial Judge Projects
Following the same principle as above, we already have in progress some of the initial projects we identified as “first priorities” for the start of the program: translation teams, writing questions for the future judge tests or the website improvement and development are just a few of the projects with volunteers already leading and working on them.
We want to have the structures and resources we’ll need in the near future ready as soon as possible, and thanks to the many judges offering their support we’re getting there little by little!
Bruna will be announcing, in another article, the leads of each of those areas very soon ™.
Communications, Contacts & Family Dinners
Between running presentations and Q&As about the IJP at many End of Year Conferences, advancing communications with Judge Foundry, judgeapps, some regional organizations or groups of judges organizing themselves, starting our contacts with WotC… these have been three quite intense weeks of extra duties between closing work deliverables, the multiple Christmas dinners or the important family time during these days. Did I say intense? Three quite SATISFYING weeks I meant.
Tell Us Your Thoughts!
What have you been doing? What is the next thing you’d like to hear from us?
We opened a couple of IJP forums on APPS for our members where you can ask us questions directly. You can also write to hello@internationaljudgeprogram.org if you’re not a member and you don’t have access to the forums.
We want to hear from you. We want to have you on board so we can all work together in the same direction. Let us know your needs or concerns.
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! 🙂
