An Update on Temporary Regional Advisors

Cristiana welcomes some new additions to the TRA roster, reveals the distribution of countries among TRA regions and shares recent activity.

Greetings, fellow Magic the Gathering Judges and followers!

As we continue our journey to enhance the International Judge Program and foster a vibrant and supportive community, we are delighted to share some interesting updates with you.

Since our last announcement regarding the selection of Temporary Regional Advisors (TRAs), some progress has been made and our TRAs have been awesome at work contributing their invaluable insights and expertise.

New TRA Selections and Regional Division

Firstly, I am thrilled to announce the addition of two new South East Asia TRAs to our esteemed team. These dedicated individuals bring a wealth of experience and passion for the community of the IJP Judges, and a great contribution to our commitment to global representation and community engagement:

  • Wendra Kamadjaja is the new TRA for the Andaman Sea Georegion

  • Reuben Ferrer is the new TRA for the South China Sea Georegion

To ensure efficient and personalized support, we have divided countries among our TRAs. Here’s a brief overview of the TRAs and the areas they oversee. Please note that these are not the final regional divisions that will be decided by the TRAs.

TRA Contributions and Initiatives

A mailing list has been created for TRAs and PLs in which our TRAs have been actively engaged in providing regional input and suggestions to the Program Leads regarding the new IJP judge levels and structure. Their valuable insights have played a central role in shaping the direction of the program, ensuring inclusivity and relevance across diverse regions.

Additionally, discussions have been underway on how to effectively engage judge communities through various social channels such as WhatsApp, Facebook groups, Discord, and more. Our TRAs have been instrumental in facilitating these discussions, sharing best practices, and exploring innovative approaches to foster connectivity and collaboration within their respective regions.

Looking Ahead

As we look ahead to the future of the IJP, our TRAs remain dedicated to serving as advocates for their regions and champions of community engagement. Together, we are committed to build a supportive and inclusive environment where every judge feels valued, empowered, and inspired to excel.

During the second half of 2024, TRAs are tasked with creating the first division of Regions that will be used at the beginning of 2025 for the elections in the International Judge Program.

Final Thoughts

We are immensely proud and grateful of the dedication and contributions of our TRAs towards advancing the goals of the International Judge Program. Their efforts reflect the spirit of camaraderie and passion that defines our Judge Community and we are confident that together we will continue to achieve great things.

Stay tuned for further updates and developments as we embark on this exciting journey together. Thanks for reading!

Warm regards,

Cristiana, on behalf of the International Judge Program Leads
